The best things about being at Manor are that you get the best education and you get to be with your friends. The teachers can be a bit strict but they like to get the best out of you – they challenge us to do our best. My favourite lesson is Child Development as I want to become a midwife when I’m older.
I started doing athletics at the age of three. My dad is my coach. I did my first major competition in the summer and became the northern champion in discus for U15s. This was a really big achievement for me as I’ve never done anything like it before. My main ambition is to get to the Commonwealth Games and progress from there, and then maybe go on to the Olympics. I train five times a week, which involves technical skills and fitness sessions like core and abs which are really hard work!
At school, I am a ‘Listener’ which means I look out for the Year 7s. We work with them for a whole year and if they have any problems they come to us and we try to help them help them sort it out and deal with it. It helps them but it also gives us leadership skills, communication skills and teaches us how to help others.
