The following underpinning British Values have been identified:
We aim to actively promote British values in our schools, to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. In addition to the day to day modelling, British values are taught in suitable parts of the curriculum in our schools.
We aim to provide pupils with a broad knowledge of, and promote respect for all public institutions and services. We teach pupils how they can influence decision making through the democratic process, and encourage them to take active participation in class discussions. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and to understand that while different people may hold different views on what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its laws.
