Twelve Year 8 students from Vale of York Academy competed in the Regional School Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Activity Day at York University in May.
The day was designed to raise students’ enthusiasm for STEM subjects and to encourage them to continue their studies in these areas after they leave school. The participating students were selected by teachers Mrs Davis and Mr Everett for excelling in Science and Technology so far this year.
The Vale of York Academy students engaged in four activities during the day, where they had to work in teams, completing challenges to the best of their ability. Damian Idzinski and Arun Haley won with their group during the day on one of the activities. A great day with great success for Vale of York Academy!
